Outfit Desc:

Her clothing is all greys and blacks with a blue scarf contrasting the wintry mix. She wears almost knee high boots with ragged fur lining accentuated by thigh high socks and a pair of grey shorts. She has a black and grey button down hoodie with a small grey belt around her midriff. The hoodie itself is accentuated with a collar as well as white highlights. Underneath the hoodie she wears a very plain, solid black tank top.

The outfit is clearly well-worn, frayed edges and loose strings are easy to find as well as a myriad of stains from the road. Not even Nym has any idea where any of them came from. One might assume she's been wearing it for a long time. Most anyone would be looking to replace the whole getup by now.

Physical Appearance:

Nym is incredibly fit. Her weapon of choice is far from light and with the amount of travel and fighting she's done in her past she has at least one thing to show for her troubles. Her arms, legs, and abs are rock solid. No one could mistake her for a body builder, but it's obvious from a cursory glance that she is used to heavy lifting.

Her head is adorned with a pair of grey fox ears. She's quite glad she doesn't have a tail, the ears are easy enough to hide if need be. A tail would be a total disaster to conceal.
Nym's personality could be best described as temperamental and intense. Her mood can swing from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other in a heartbeat and just as hard. She's doing her best to control herself. Coming to Beacon was the first step in turning her life around.

For most of her life she's been on her own and tends to keep to herself. Experience has drilled in to her head that if someone is trying to be nice to her they want something from her. Beacon is a chance to turn that around, but old habits die hard.

Verbal confrontation is not her strong suit but she's willing to go toe to toe in a shouting match whether or not she's in the right. She's not a stranger to using physical force and almost prefers to settle her differences with her fists. Win or lose, Nym likes a good fight.
Nym was a middle child, born to a poor family from Wind Path. The town that she belonged to was far from the reach of the Mistralian government. Her parents were both faunus and they lived in squalor.

A passing hunter saw potential in Nym to be a huntress and took her under his wing. Her training was going smoothly for a time, until the local criminal organization that her master was working with got wind of what was happening. Her tutor did not stand up for her. He believed his work within the gang was more important than Nym's well being. Sacrifices needed to be made for the greater good. Sometimes good people had to do bad things to keep the world safe.

According to the affluent criminals that ran the organization there was only one punishment to fit the crime. The faunus needed to be reminded of her place in society. They tasked the hunter with informing Nym that if she ever came back to Wind Path they would make her life a living hell. The message was to be conveyed with more than words.

Nym lived, and she was able to steal her master's weapon before leaving the city. She spent several years on the road. Life was tough for a homeless faunus in Mistral, especially when so many people still remembered the old ways. People took advantage of her and Nym took advantage of anyone that she could. Violence wasn't rare. There was no shortage of cutthroats and highwaymen on Mistral's thoroughfares. The road left it's fair share of emotional wounds along with the physical ones. The struggles were enough to leave a serious psychological impact.

When she eventually heard about Beacon she was reminded of why she'd taken up her weapon in the first place. It was a second chance at having a life that didn't involve stealing off other people's tables and fighting off bandits while travelling from place to place. She might have felt broken, but maybe there was a way to piece the scraps back together.

Paramount among her reasons to head to Vale was the distance from Wind Path. Nym wanted to get as far from home as she possibly could.

Weapon Desc:
Her weapon has three states, inactive, melee, and ranged.

While the weapon is inactive it resembles a motor attached to a handle. It makes no noise and in a pinch can be wielded as a club.

In melee configuration it resembles a chainsaw mixed with a sword. The sophisticated dust engine allows the teeth of the saw to be infused with a variety of dust and dust combinations adding an elemental flair to the deadly weapon. More dust can be flooded into the system to be pumped out by the chain at a blistering speed allowing the weapon to be used as a dust thrower.

While in melee configuration

In ranged configuration a set of barrels sprout from the engine and combine to form a chain gun. The bullets of this chain gun can also be infused with dust by the specialized motor for added effect.
Semblance Desc:
When Nym activates her semblance her eyes change from their normal golden yellow to a fluorescent blue and she can see several different futures play out at once in an instant.

The number of futures she sees directly correlates to the distance into the future she wants to looks. A few seconds will create half a dozen possibilities. Any more than that and the power tends to become overwhelming. If Nym were to attempt looking a full minute into the future she would see a thousand possibilities play out at once, completely impossible to understand. Practically, it can never really be used to see more than a couple seconds into the future.

Even in short bursts, details are easily lost. When six possible futures play out at once it's almost impossible to understand a word that's being said.

All of the possible futures are observed simultaneously and instantaneously which places a strain on Nym's mind. Nym has to use her own intuition and prowess to either predict which of the possibilities is the right one, or take an action that will protect her from all of them.

Nym has a very short list of things that she cares about. Her own well-being isn't very high on the list. She's more than willing to throw caution to the wind.

For a shining moment, Nym uses her semblance and loses herself in the fight, moving as naturally as if she were dancing, tearing her enemies to pieces.
