Nym's intense, golden eyes stared Cassandra down. As if she needed a reminder that Grimm were dangerous. This wasn't her first rodeo, or had that display back there not been enough for their huntress to figure that one out? Whatever. Maybe she was just in a bad mood because...because something was going on between her and Ax? Fuck, whatever, it didn't matter. It was easy to catch her eyes widening and Nym took a quick look back herself to see the swarming Grimm. She felt another swell of excitement in her chest, but that wasn't a fight that they were going to take. They were here for a reason. They needed to go scout something out, not kill every monster in the ruined city.

When Ax shot her a look Nym took her open hand and rolled up the sleeve on her weapon arm, making a flourishing gesture at the myriad of scars, tilting her head accusatorily at Cassandra, and rolling her eyes. Cass wasn't going to suck the fun out of this by trying to make her take it too seriously. If she couldn't enjoy fighting Grimm then what was the point of being a huntress?

Deeper underground they went. Nym squinted briefly as a powerful flashlight forced her eyes to readjust. Of course, Ax and Nym might be able to see in the dark, but Cass was only human. Still, it meant any particularly dark corners would be easily visible instead of shrouded in grey. The tunnels were lifeless, abandoned, any traces of civilization were just that. All she could see were the leftover scraps on the Grimm's dinner plate.

She could feel the anxiety coming off of Ax. Ax was mostly normal. She'd probably been in maybe one or two fights in her whole life where her life might have been on the line and it would be easy to forget about them or not realize how serious things were in the first place. Trauma was one thing. Ax had plenty of that, but she probably hadn't built up a tolerance to being in mortal danger. What did that say about Nym?

Nym changed her pace to match Ax's, standing close by her. A, hopefully, reassuring hand gave Ax's shoulder a squeeze and Nym's voice came in a whisper so quiet that only a faunus' ears would be able to detect it even at this close distance. "Bet the acoustics in 'ere'd be killa', eh? We got this Ax." Her hand didn't linger, but Nym stayed close. Who knew? Maybe her confidence would rub off on Ax and make this easier for all of them.

The student’s reactions and whispers would go unnoticed by the huntress as she was too focused on the task at hand. Unfortunately, often when you are looking for everything you miss the details. Then again perhaps it was for the best. Cassandra was already pretty worked up and the last thing she needed to hear was mockery or descent. So, for better or worse she would continue along ignorant of these actions.

Minutes would end up going by as the group went down the tunnel. Cassandra would remain quiet until they reached the end. A large pile of rubble completely blocked the way, and a shiver ran down her spine. This was it... This was the site where she almost died, and as strong and resilient as she was the red-haired woman fell under her own weight. At first, she played it off like she was taking a knee to check the tracks, but soon even her knees weren't strong enough and she fell back onto her butt. This was the first time where she had returned to one of the places where her semblance had been triggered. Vivid memories of the entire encounter ran through her head and that feeling. That helpless feeling of being resolved to your death and having even that stripped away. Waking up under a pile of rubble, trapped, it was as if the rocks were on top of her in that very moment.

Sure, enough a tear would end up running down Cassie's face, and she mumbled to herself. "Damnit... I... I can't believe it. I thought I was stronger than this." The worst part was the veteran warrior knew exactly what that tear meant. That tear may has well have been a giant fireworks display saying: 'Grimm Come Here!' However, she couldn't help herself. In a long line of failures preceding and following that day it was too much. She knew that, that was her moment. That was her moment to finally balance the scales and make up for those who sacrificed by making her own. Sure, she had helped in the defense of Beacon and Vale since, but she wasn't needed in those events. No, all she had done since was let people down it seemed.

Wiping the tears from her eyes Cassandra had to look away. It was the only chance she would have to get her feelings right again. Unfortunately, it was also too late. A low rumble was felt. "Shit..." She said to herself as she sprung up. Looking back to the two students. Two students who were probably very confused, she said. "I... I'm sorry. This is my fault..." Grasping her weapons tightly she continued. "...I won't let either of you down, again. Stay by my side and we will get through this together." This was the worst she of all people was going to be the reason why Grimm were descending upon them. She couldn't bare living with it if something happened to them, and she was going to make it her mission to see them protected.

The ground in front of them began to loosen prepared to reveal whatever horror this ruined city had in store for them.

A thin smile came to Ax's lips at the gesture Nym made to her scars, though it didn't offer much reassurance. She didn't plan to say it out loud, but Cassandra was right about one thing at least... Nym didn't seem to fully realize just what these monsters were capable of... that, or she was behaving as though willfully ignorant of it. Cassandra's team had been dedicated, graduated huntsmen from Beacon, yet now two of them were dead and buried. The scars on Nym's arm weren't even the start of what they could do, and Mountain Glenn was a wellspring of despair and death that was now home to more Grimm than Nym may have encountered in her whole life's worth of travels as far as they knew. As much as Ax could appreciate Nym's cheer and bravado, scars were marks representative of mistakes. Ax did not intend to allow herself to make mistakes if she could help it. Better warriors than either of them had paid the price in more than blood alone for mistakes.

She exhaled a soft sigh at Nym's hand on her shoulder, nodding her head as though to try and reassure the fox that she was fine. The thin smile remained on her lips, but it was forced. She didn't like this. She felt trapped. The air was musty and stale down here, and she'd watched too many scary movies that reminded her of dark, forgotten places like this with unseen terrors resting in the shadows. She rose her hand to grab Electra Heart from her back. She would keep it ready... she felt safer that way. Her Muses continued to float close by like little sphere-shaped, white-and-gold guardians.

When they reached the collapsed end of the passage, Ax felt a shiver run down her own spine, followed by a weight that blunted her senses and made her think of faraway places. A sensation of dread like the one she felt when she and her father were driven down a certain stretch of road in Atlas, passing by a concert hall that she never intended to return to. A sensation crept into her chest and suddenly her heart was pounding, and she was struggling to breathe. She barely noticed that Cassandra was on the ground now at first - she was too busy wrestling with the quite contagious emotional side effects to notice the physical ones. Was the ventilation here that messed? Probably, this place was abandoned! She couldn't breathe. They really needed to get out of here...

If Cassandra's emotional state wasn't enough of a beckoning for the Grimm, then the way Ax's semblance absorbed those feelings and bounced them back outward in a display of unpleasant, sickly resonance was. Realizing this Ax's eyes fell shut and she desperately tried to ground herself. She was on a mission in Mountain Glenn, she was with Nym and Cass - some of the best fighters she knew - and she'd...

"...come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun, where the hot springs flow..."


She murmured the lyrics beneath her breath, trying to focus on the classic rock song that popped into her head to calm herself. It was too little and too late to stop the Grimm from coming, but she needed something to focus on with the weight of Cassandra's current state burdening her and making her knees shake. Or was it the earth itself starting to shake? Oh shit... no, that, was definitely the ground. The earth was moaning and rumbling like it needed a snack, and that shook Ax pretty quickly out of her state. Her eyes flashed to Cassandra in time to catch her righting herself, but her assurances after did little to make Ax feel better given the environment. Cassandra could protect them from Grimm, but not from a cave in if more of this passage collapsed. A grimace came to her lips and she reached out to grab Cassandra's wrist.

"Right, yeah, we'll stay by your side while we get the hell away from this place and figure out whose fault it is later, come on!" Ax yelled demandingly, pulling Cassandra and attempting to pull her back from the rubble blocking their path. She looked to Nym and then wildly gestured with the tip of her battleaxe back the way they came.

"Let's run! I'm not dying down here in a fucking hole in the earth!" Ax shouted on. And then it happened. Rather than bursting forth where Ax expected, it was as though the Grimm knew her intentions. A pair of long cylindrical serpentine shapes - one in black, one in white - blasted from the ground from not in front of them or beneath their feet, but from some place behind them. The whole passage shook and rumbled, concrete and rock shooting down the passage at them. They were clear of the worst of it at this distance, but a stray bit of rubble from above still managed to land on Ax. Her aura kept the sharp rocks from dazing her or doing any solid damage, but it still hurt and it still pissed her off.

As though the twin headed serpent wasn't enough, the massive hole in the ground they'd opened up in the process of arriving spilled dozens of creeps forth. Ax's jaw dropped at the sight. This felt like it was already turning into a worst-case scenario. To make matters worse, the earth around them still didn't cease rumbling. It was as though more Grimm could flood in at any second.

Their exit was blocked. The only way out was through the horde. They'd have to fight their way out. The Grimm's roars as they rushed forth echoed in Ax's ears so loudly that for a short moment she could barely think. It was all she could do to try and ready her guitar in front of her and begin strumming a tune to charge her Batteries. She'd need to be on her A-game. No screwing around! She was walking out that passage the way she came at the end of this, whether the serpent in the way liked it or not!

Her Muses, guided by Ax's will and her aura alike, blasted out loud a tune to rival the roars of the Grimm in time with Ax's music. The loud sound of classic rock reverberated so intensely in the confines of the underground passage that Ax could feel the beat in her bones. She couldn't tell that the vibrations had the effect they did, but the forwardmost of the Creeps would be dazed and deafened by the sound as they rushed forth. Either way, the music was enough to get her blood pumping and her morale surging - she'd need every bit of positivity she could get as she started to strum her guitar to the tune of the song the Muses issued forth. Alight with sparks of bright blue light, Ax braced herself for the battle, lips moving to the words from the accompaniment.

"To fight the horde, and sing and cry,
Valhalla, I am coming...!"

Her words had about as much effect as she thought they would. It wasn't as if she didn't know how strange it was to be acting so casually around Grimm. They were the stuff of nightmares. They were the biggest threat to life as we know it that could be dreamed of. It wasn't normal to act normal around them. It probably wasn't safe to have fun fighting them, but she couldn't help herself. It was what it was. She was who she was.

When they finally reached the end of the tunnel to find an unceremonious pile of rubble, Nym found herself slightly disappointed. This was the job. It wasn't glamorous, they weren't trying to blow something up or rescue someone or do a storybook worthy task. They were doing the huntsman equivalent of drudgery. Her relatively neutral feelings were cut through by Ax's emotions. She could feel the stress and anxiety like a heatlamp had been pointed in her direction. Fuck. And their designated hunstman was having a breakdown? Nym recoiled at the sight. She was crying! Nym looked quickly between Ax and Cass, but before she could open her mouth she could hear a tremor in the earth a split second before she could feel it. Something was coming.

Nym turned around and held an arm up to shield her face from the various bits of debris and falling rock that pelted them. It was a Taijitu. Great. Her classes were paying off. She could put a name to the hideous monster charging at them from across the cavern.

She wanted to berate Cass. She was a trained fucking huntsman and she was crying over some rubble in a fucking cave? What the fuck?! Her emotional outburst had probably summoned these stupid Grimm in the first place. Instead of opening her mouth, saying something stupid, and probably making things worse, Nym-

"Quit yer blubberin' n' give 'em a bloody gobful!" Opened her mouth, and said something stupid, possibly making things worse.

Her weapon unfolded into it's melee configuration, spinning chain chiming in with Ax's guitar to fill the cavern with noise. She aimed as if it was still in it's minigun form, a slightly different grip, and when she revved the chainsaw a deluge of sharp, jagged metal scraps came ripping out and flew at the encroaching horde, digging into black faces and scoring white armor. It forced them to slow their charge and Nym finished the action for them, taking some amount of pride in the fact that she was the first of the three to swing her weapon.

She danced through the unbalanced Grimm as if she was carving a cake. It had been the perfect opportunity. The incautious charge unbalanced by her spray of metal dust had created space where there was none. One strike launched her to the next, propelled by her own legs and the force of her weapon digging into Grimm and throwing her further. She was simply too fast for them to land a hit, her eyes flashing from yellow to blue, she could see the openings to hurl herself into. Adrenaline started to flow again. This was what she'd wanted to do from the start.

There was a hard tug on her wrist and Cassandra was pulled out of her trance. The girl who had done this was none other than her former protege and a sinking feeling over took her. She should have been prepared for this, she knew where they were going, and yet she still collapsed. Then it took the girl that hated her guts to snap her back into reality. "This must be a nightmare." The huntress briefly thought to herself before nodding her head. "Right, let's get out of here..." The words were far more assertive than the last few sentences that had left her mouth. Unfortunately, despite this resolve it was an inadequate plan.

Bits of stone and debris exploded outward pinging off her blue aura as several Grimm cut off their exit. Looking to her one side Cassandra scowled at Nym for her words, though... of course, the Faunus wasn't wrong. She was the huntress here and she needed to start acting like one. Fortunately, between the two of them their reactions got the red-haired woman back in the saddle. "My apologies, there will not be a repeat of that." More and more she continued to sound like the veteran warrior she was instead of the scared PTSD filled person she was a moment ago. "Stay together, protect each other, and fight as a team. If we do that we'll win." Turning to both sides she gave each girl a small nod before turning back towards the incoming wave.

By the time the Creeps came into range Cassandra had her plan. These two had proven that they know how to dish out some damage, so she was going to draw as much fire as possible. This meant using unconventional tactics. Instead of slicing at the first creep she made a slick maneuver going to the ground sweeping the legs beneath the creature. Rolling into the next the huntress pushed off the ground getting low on the Grimm lifting it up and flinging it on its back. By this point she started to draw some more attention and one of the creeps even managed to bite her arm. However, the thing was weak and her blue aura barely flickered as she whipped the dark monster off her.

It had all looked like one smooth motion, but now came the bigger and far scarier Grimm. Both head slithered in unison, and despite the song and revving from the Chainsaw. Cassandra made it her mission to draw the attention of this beast. "OVER HERE!" She yelled at the top of her lungs as she strafed around and away from the students.

Maybe it was a little weird to think of the sounds of a revving chainsaw as an atmospheric complement to the music playing, but it felt strangely fitting given the horrific circumstances they were in. She had to focus on her music and her foe if she wanted to make it out of this alive. She'd never been boxed in like this, just her, a handful of allies, and the Grimm before... and this was also probably the most she'd ever faced at once. She couldn't even count the swarm of smaller creeps working like organized packs. They... were sort of organized though. Maybe they weren't smart or deliberate enough to be doing it on purpose but they definitely were running in dense little clusters. Maybe she could use that.

Whether she could or not, one thing was for sure; she could definitely use Nym's intervention, and she could also use Cassandra's newfound stability and calm - strangely, despite everything that had happened, her words felt calming enough to bring her mind back to their training days. As the pack closed in, Nym rushed forward to meet them, unleashing pure havoc in the form of sprays of deadly-looking shrapnel along with strikes of her blade while also slowing the advance of the beasts. Ax took the opportunity to build up a hefty charge in her gauntlets while Nym had their attention. With that, she turned slightly towards the two-headed monstrosity that was the King Taijitu headed their way, slithering forth with shocking speed like a serpent.

Cassandra, meanwhile, had opted to start executing a daring maneuver that Ax wasn't sure she'd have felt confident enough to attempt herself - rushing forth through the swarm and attempting to interpose herself between the Taijitu and the less experienced students here that she was in charge of looking after. Confident in her mentor's ability to pull off the crazy tactic she was presently attempting, she braced herself for the Creeps instead - no point in trying to divert her attention between more tasks than she could handle. After all, as many hits as Nym was scoring against the beasts - slaying some and weakening others as she thinned the packs - more and more just poured forth as though undaunted, content with suicide rush they were making that would likely cost all of them their wretched, mindless lives. As they closed in now on her Ax lowered her guitar and let it rest, spinning in place and prompting the guitar to magnetically anchor itself to her back where it'd be nice and out of the way. As she faced the beasts again, she punched one fist into the other, lightning ominously crackling as it enveloped her gauntlets to such an extent that the gunmetal surface was almost completely hidden by bright, flashing blue light. Now it was her turn to dance, and she was ready judging from her stance - knees bent, muscles coiled and ready to spring. Her Muses glowed with light of their own before illusory wings seemed to break forth from them at her flanks, creating the image of winged amps at her sides like little musical guardian angels that happened to also play recordings of classic rock songs.

The first pack that came near her began to rush in to try and snap at her, diving her one-by-one. Deftly she maneuvered between the pounces, finding it much easier to dodge while unencumbered with her guitar in hand or floating at waist level. As she ducked under one of the bigger ones she extended her hands outward, massive twin bolts of channeled lightning dancing out from her fingertips, striking suddenly with a loud clap of thunder; as lightning all but incinerated the beast the lightning arced out and struck others around it. With a single motion she'd blown away a fair chunk of the monsters...

"On we sweep with..."

More came, and nimbly she evaded - her feet never seemed to fully touch the ground, her Batteries granting her the ability to acrobatically defy gravity. While some of her evasive motions were quick, practical dashes to-and-fro, plain ducks and quick leaps, others were flashier and more fancy - a cartwheeling motion that clear her of several snapping jaws at once here and there. She blew away Grimm left and right as they leapt at her at nearly point-blank range each time she extended an arm at them. While there was a little less light in her gauntlets with each blast she unleashed, she had enough to work through a lot of them. She was sure of it.

"...threshing oar...!"

Even some of the faster and seemingly more cautious ones amongst the pack weren't fast enough to dodge lightning bolts traveling at what was a non-insignificant fraction of the speed of light. It was starting to sink in now why Nym enjoyed this so much... or maybe it was Nym's contagious satisfaction at the rush of battle that was working its way into her head, bringing a fierce grin to her lips. This was good in some ways, and bad in others. She whirled in time to catch a particularly large one of the creeps snapping inches from her face - had she been a little less caught up in her own mounting bloodlust she might've been able to evade it as well. Reflexively she reached back and drew her blade just in time to hold it in front of her - the Creep bit down only to latch onto the haft of her axe, and the lightning that coursed through it immediately shot it back as fast as it bit down.

"Our only goal will be the western shore!"

In a matter of seconds, Ax and Nym had slaughtered a vast majority of the pack, and there weren't even corpses of the beasts remaining as their bodies dissolved away - Ax's gauntlets were just about depleted of charge, so she resumed strumming to the rhythm broadcasted by her winged Muses. The few Creeps that remained were a set of stragglers that had been in the back of the horde - they were relatively untouched. They would be no more or less formidable than the others so without the advantage of numbers Ax had no doubt that she and her dearest friend would do away with them in no time. It was a little concerning that despite the hell Nym and Ax had given them, they seemed to be taking more interest in Cassandra instead.

Her eyes snapped back over at Cassandra in time to catch sight of the King Taijitu snapping at Cassandra. She didn't want to look - she just wanted to help. Her heart sank in her chest and she turned her gaze to Nym again, jerking her head in Cassandra's direction, hoping the gesture as well as the intensity of her gaze in tandem would get the point across. They could fight the rest of these stragglers and the Taijitu at the same time... right? Maybe Cassandra could take a beast like that on her own... but despite all of Ax's complicated feelings toward her mentor, she would have preferred not to risk watching her die down here if she could do something about it.

Nym gave Ax a sharp nod. A couple of squeezes on the handle of Whisper revved the engine again. Nym was getting back into the zone now. A few dozen creeps? A Taijitu? They'd already thinned the pack down to a fifth of what it was before. That giant snake only had two heads. Three were better than two. It was simple math. This fight was in the bag before it had even started.

"Right then!" She turned towards the mass of evil that Cassandra was fighting and rushed in. The trained huntress was nothing if not self-sacrificial it would seem. No matter how reckless or dangerous Nym fought she was there to take the hit or deflect it. A spark of anger lit up inside her. What did Cassandra think of her, that she was some delicate flower to be protected? If Cass took every hit and died down here, where would that leave Ax and Nym?

She was barely paying attention to the creeps and they barely seemed to be paying attention to her. Cassandra must have been in an awful state for them all to focus her so readily. Would she be able to take it? It didn't matter much, the only thing Nym could do was fight. The biggest threat, the deadliest foe, it was the two-headed snake. Creep after creep found itself flung aside, unbalanced, overturned as Nym charged through the crowd to strike at the enormous foe. When Whisper met it's flesh it hissed angrily and snapped it's fangs at Nym, but there was no opening to get through. Cassandra was already there.

It was tough. Of course it was tough, the thing was huge. Her vicious strike felt like little more than testing the beast's waters. It'd either take time and endurance or some serious firepower to bring the monster down. Nym grinned. A short fight sounded boring, anyways.

Steel clashed against bone plating, and teeth into aura. It was challenging holding the attention of a creature that could attack two things at once, but the Huntress had been filling this role for a very long time. In moments like that doubt, fear, second guessing. All these emotions washed away and that left her with a laser focused goal. A goal to make sure that the three of them walked out of her alive. So, while distractions were a plenty with chainsaws, lightning, and loud blasts of music. Her eyes remained fixated on the foes in front of her as she danced from the two-headed snake to the creeps.

Eventually the large snake retaliated with a hard shot at Cassandra after Nym landed the first meaningful hit on the creature. The bite had glanced off the huntress’s aura but the force behind the lunge was enough to send the woman sliding back. Aura would ripple all around as her family’s semblance began to burn inside of her. Blue infernos would pour upwards out of her eyes as she breathed heavily. She took advantage of the momentary the distance between her and the Grimm to assess the battlefield. It was needless to say that the students had done well thus far clearing the majority of the creeps, but they still had a long way to go.

Pointing one of her swords towards the snake that was now coiling and preparing for its next assault Cassandra would call out. "Keep it up! These things are nothing compared to us if we work together." Practically growling the feral nature of her familial semblance began to show "I'll set it up you bring it down!" Kicking off the hard ground beneath her she charged the creature. It's first head swiped outwards, but with a nimble roll she leaped up and straddled that snake. The remaining creep attempted to defend the larger Grimm but catching the sneaky thing out of the corner of her eye the red-haired warrior slung her one sword out towards it pinning the beast against the wall. Then with her remaining sword Cassandra used both her hands to swing the blade downwards several hard shots. She knew this creature was solid, and even with all her training she would be unable to bring it down on her own. So, she instead focuses on ripping on pieces of its boney armor. Eventually, with a loud crying hiss a large portion of the chitin broke loose.

The other head wrapped around reacting to her tactic. It would viciously strike out to defend its weakened half, and its long teeth would land squarely upon Cassandra's aura. "Ahh!" She would cry out as the attack wasn't mitigated by a parry or her usual ability to roll with a blow. Armor would crash into the ground as the woman was dismounted from the force behind the gruesome bite. However, even after a bone rattling strike like that she still managed to stand back up. She had no intentions on failing someone again. No, the huntress was just getting started!

It was hard to focus with the ominous rumbling still going on all around them, adding a foreboding note to Ax's music even as she strummed on to achieve a charge. Things were going well despite the overwhelming danger of being underground in an abandoned metro with all this chaos going on. She made a mental note to never come to Mountain Glenn again if she could help it. This place was a mess and this mission had been a death trap masquerading as a routine assignment. The most practical thing Ax could do to try and secure Nym and Cassandra's offensive options against the remaining Grimm was to channel lightning into ball form around her and then project it outward to form nets of arc lightning, just like she'd done to try and pin the Ursae into a killzone for Nym before. This time she had too much space to cover and the monster was too big and agile to really lock down meaningfully, but with luck she could force the beasts to take some punishment from one angle or another.

Her focus changed when Cassandra took a hit. Many of the 'nets' of lightning she formed winked out of existence as her focus broke - the work she'd done trying to control the Grimm's positioning would have to do for now because she had other priorities now. Ax had only a vague idea of how much punishment Cassandra could really take, and she wasn't taking chances. Her concern, however, manifested as fear outwardly.

On one hand this was good. It made Ax a more appealing target to the remaining creeps. On the other, distracting one of the Taijitu heads didn't mean much when the other could follow-up on Cassandra anyway. Ax knew her strengths, and taking hits on her mentor's behalf wasn't going to be one of them, but she had other ways she could help.

Ax moved frantically as she evaded the creeps that remained, but she was slowing down with each rushing foe. After she cleared most of the distance she threw her hand up, leaving Electra Heart floating at waist level while she held her own wrist steady and launched what looked to be a small, shining, silvery entity composed of light that resembled one of Ax's winged Muses at a tenth of the size. The small but speedy entity rushed forth to Cassandra just in time for the Taijitu to turn its attentions to Ax.

The beast swiftly moved to snap at her, and she managed to exert just enough force with a leap to move clear. The other head moved simultaneously in a much more unpredictable manner, tackling Ax and managing to more or less blindside her, barreling her in the side and knocking her out of the air. She flew sideways with the force before hitting the ground, tumbling a few feet, bouncing gracelessly, and then hitting the wall with her back with enough impact to partially imprint her in the stone. The force was disorienting and her eyes were snapped shut, her expression a grimace of pain as gravity pulled her from the wall and down to the earth... thankfully, however, her aura was still in good shape. She was far from out of the fight, and that became clear as she caught herself and reoriented just in time to look up and see the Taijitu bearing down on her again.

This time, though, she had enough time to react. Somehow she was able to grab Electra Heart and quickly summon the energy to leap to the side, tumbling elegantly and evading as the creature's body slammed into the ground where she'd just been laying. Still recovering from the hit she took she rose her blade in a defensive stance, a mirthless grin on her lips. Well, her gambit had... sort of worked.

The tiny glowing messenger sent to Cassandra was designed to administer electrotherapy. When it reached her aura it seemingly dispersed and melded into her aura with a bright blue glow, infusing Cassandra's aura with a low-frequency interferential electric current - it stimulated aura, relaxed tension in muscle, accelerated natural healing all with a strange, tingly sort of electric sensation. It was a testament to the creativity of Ax's dust functions. Ax had been hoping that would be enough to keep Cassandra sharp and ready for whatever came next.
