Tutoring with a Troublemaker (Private w/ Silver Fox)

A place of study, quietly. However some students are known to bust out their board games and comic books while "studying".

Tutoring with a Troublemaker (Private w/ Silver Fox)

Post by Roland McLeod » Mon Mar 26, 2018

It was a pretty quiet day for Roland. He'd been out in the field yesterday, so he was glad for it. There were some nasty Grimm he'd taken some hits from, and was still sore from it. Nevertheless, he'd agreed to tutor a student the next day, and wasn't going to let a few bruises get in the way of helping out a classmate. The class was one he'd recently picked up on his course load, and was proving to be pretty interesting: "Grimm Philosophy". It was about how people view Grimm, different theories about them, et cetera. It wasn't entirely challenging, but it got Roland thinking. Before he'd entered the class, he only thought of Grimm as a nuisance. Now he realized their existence was more meaningful than just as something to be slaughtered. They were evil incarnate, to be sure, but why were they here? Who made them? These were questions that Roland found himself thinking of more and more since he'd heard about the class, and since he wasn't one to let his questions be unanswered, he decided to join a friend of his in the class.
Today, he was tutoring another student, just as he tended to offer in all his classes. Roland, while from first impressions didn't seem all that smart (in fact he seemed pretty stupid), was actually extremely intelligent. He had straight A's, though he was fairly modest about it. He didn't want people seeing him as someone who freaked out at the smallest change in grades; he'd honestly be content with B's or C's. But he was a gifted learner and had a monstrous ability to adapt quickly, so he was prone to doing well in academic settings, though he had little experience with them.
Sitting down near the entrance, hoping the student - Silver, if he remembered her name correctly - would find him easily. He knew some tutors had a habit of using the private rooms, but that didn't appeal to Roland at all. For one, he didn't like making students run around in the library looking for him. Second, it was way too personal. He'd be at risk for the more... flirtatious... members of his classroom to try to woo him, and he might seem like he was doing the same to the shyer ones. Nonetheless, he'd made that problem obsolete with his choice to meet right next to the door. Now all he had to do was set up and wait. He brought out the textbook and his notes, ready for her when she arrived. Hopefully this would productive, but if it wasn't, conversation was always a luxury Roland accepted in any case.
"Talking."
Thinking.
"Really, REALLY mad."
