Cassandra Lavay
History:
Early Life: Cassandra, was born in Atlas the daughter of two officers in the Atlesian military. At the age of 9 her parents took a promotion which resulted in her family moving to Vale where life would remain normal until she was 14 when a mission gone wrong resulted their deaths. Due to the somewhat controversial nature of this assignment Cassie and her younger brother ended up getting swept under the rug and forced to look after themselves.

For roughly a year Cassie and her brother were forced to constantly move from place to place as she struggled to find steady employment and was forced to pick up odd jobs here and there. During this time was also when her aura and semblance began to manifest, and it quickly became apparent that she was no ordinary girl. Ultimately, Cassie ended up catching the eye of a famous or infamous mercenary group known as the Neverstalkers. Here the girl would end up flourishing, and quickly became renown for her feats in combat. So much, so that it ended up catching the eye of a rich philanthropist and frequent client of the mercenary group. This woman saw great potential in Cassie and after a long conversation about her living situation, abilities, and career plans she offered to sponsor her for enrollment into Beacon Academy. Unable to deny her desire for becoming a huntress Cassandra arranged for her brother to stay with one of her, now, retired acquaintances.

Beacon: True to her word the woman made several phone calls and after a small test, which Cassandra aced, she was admitted into the school. The first year was difficult for her between the fact that she was a bit older, had not attended a combat school, and fulfilling her promised duties of taking care of her brother on weekends and evenings she found herself alienated from most of the student body. This isolation, though, was what led her into finding her future team, Team CRZY as the other three members of the team were also outsiders as they were all Faunus. However, despite all odds, and even the second guessing of professors this team would end up far surpassing expectations. In their 3rd year at the academy they placed 2nd at the world tournament, and a year later graduated top of her class. An achievement that finally broke down some walls where Cassie gained the respect of her classmates.

The Huntress: After graduating Cassandra’s team opted to stick together believing they could do more good as a unit instead of individually. A prediction that would end up becoming very true as they spent the next four years building renown and gaining fame for being one of the most efficient group of young huntsmen around. This would be considered the prime highlight of her life as she also married her one teammate Zander. However, only five short months later everything fell apart.
During a mission to recon an area for potential settlement outside of Vacuo her team encountered a powerful and terrible ancient Grimm. Cassie ordered one of her teammates to evacuate the survey crew while the rest of them stalled the creature. However, this beast was unlike anything they had fought before, and she was forced to witness this creature kill her husband right in front of her eyes. Unable to retreat the huntress faced down this powerful foe alone and after expending her semblance she managed to slay the beast just before falling unconscious.

After a short recovery period Cassie would spend the next several months going from bar to bar finding solace for her loss at the bottom of a bottle. It seemed the huntress was bound to live out the rest of her days like this in self-pity until her final teammate tracked her down. After many heartfelt pleas, Cassie was finally convinced to return to Vale where she would attempt to find a new purpose. On the way back to Vale however, their transport ended up crashing, and while the event itself was terrible. It ended up giving the huntress a purpose again as she was rescued by her brother who was now on the road to becoming a huntsman himself. When Cassie saw what he had become despite the odds being stacked against him it reminded her of what she went through, and ultimately set her to purpose once again.

Powers and Abilities:
Cassandra is incredibly strong and even without her aura can lift far beyond that of a normal human. However, even this feat is dwarfed by comparison to her primary ability and that is endurance. Everything about the huntress from her aura, to her body, and even her mind is all centered around perseverance. She can take incredible amount of damage before showing any battle fatigue and she has adopted this into her fighting style.

Fitting right in with her personality and passive abilities Cassie’s semblance aptly named ‘Another way to Die’ is essentially a cheat death. When she receives a mortal or life threatening wound her body will rapidly regenerate, and she is able to continue the fight for a short period afterward. To date her semblance has been used four times.

Equipment:
Cassandra wields dual longswords renamed ‘Zander/Yulon’ for her fallen teammates. These swords are highly versatile as they can convert into a glaive form for rapid combination attacks. They also have gun barrels crafted into the hilts for ranged combat. However, by far the best feature about them is the veins of dust they have running through them. At the click of a button these veins come alive either coating the blades in jagged ice or igniting them on fire. Aside from the weapons which are always on her person Cassie will also wear a full set of medieval combat armor when she goes into battle. This thick yet flexible plate armor perfectly accents her fighting style by further increasing her durability.

Carmelita Llayla
Carmelita Llayla was a Mistralian artist and traveler, as well as someone who would eventually become an example of a Huntress. She taught herself to fight Grimm, and even unlocked her Aura and Semblance. She believed that one of the greatest tragedies wrought by the Grimm, on par with taking the lives of Humans and Faunus, was the loss of the unique cultures and arts that came with each individual village. She hoped that, through her efforts, these unique examples of culture, of both Human and Faunus-kind, could be protected, as well as collecting examples of their cultures so that she could appreciate them, eventually ending up with a great many sculptures, clothes and other works of art.

While she held a great loyalty to Mistral due to it being her birthplace, Carmelita could not ally with her homeland if she wished to keep to this ideal. Mistral was, alongside Mantle, planning to eradicate the arts and self-expression of all cultures on Remnant in an attempt to prevent Grimm attacks, and this ran directly contrary to what she believed in. She took the first boat to Vale, and when the fighting eventually started in earnest, she was quick to take the side of Vale, as well as Vacuo when they too joined the war. She survived a great many battles, throughout the entire decade of conflict.
When the Great War finally drew to a close, Carmelita took a great act upon herself: to restore the arts and culture of those who had lost it under the individualism-destroying campaign of Mantle and Mistral. She traveled across all the continents, as well as the areas that the two kingdoms had taken in the war, and did her best to bring back what she considered the true soul of Humans and Faunus, using both the knowledge of other cultures, as well as their gifts to her, as an example of the wonderful things that could be brought upon by a person's creativity and soul. Carmellita Llayla eventually became known as a great bringer of culture, art and individualism, as well as one of the first Huntresses, making her position as a protector of Human and Faunus-kind's culture, individuality and art formal.

While Carmelita brought back the cultures of places who had lost it, and helped nurture the growth of new ones in places that it couldn't be restored, it was inevitable that there would eventually be some who looked up to her a great deal due to her works. Her fairly unique way of dress at the time, especially for a Mistralian, created its own fashion centered around the aesthetics surrounding her, which persists to this day, much like how people use colours for their names, as a way to show their love for individuality. It generally consists of bold or natural colours, long skirts, and light, flowing materials, and more expensive wear usually involves elaborate artistry upon the clothing itself.
